The Food Forest Floor Trifecta - Mulch, Fungi, Fireplace Ashes!
The worm on the thumbnail is from our food forest! I took this picture and zoomed in so you could see its little face! So cute!
By mulching with wood chips and adding mycorrhizal fungi and ashes to our heavy clay soil, we have filled it with life forms, such as worms and smaller decomposing creatures.
We got the mycorrhizal fungi from Paul Stamets' website https://fungi.com/products/mycogrow_soluble.
